Best Burgers In Krakow [Tried and Tested] Top 5

Updated: Aug 2

As delicious as Polish food can be, sometimes what you really need to cure that nagging hangover, or to treat yourself after a long day in Krakow; is the sweet taste of a big fat, juicy burger. Sometimes it’s the simple things in life that can bring the most joy. So where to find the best burger in Krakow? Well here are our top 5 favourite burger restaurants in no particular order. All of which have been tried and tested personally (more times than any of us would like to admit!).

1. Antler Poutine & Burger

Coming in first on or list is a small restaurant, tucked away on a little side street just off the main square. Antler burger is a Canadian themed burger joint, with a salute to all things Canadian. Their burgers are very tasty with a simple menu that sticks to the classics. Not only are you served a tasty, meaty burger, but it’s the sides that accompany it which really make this place special. Being Canadian and all, it wouldn’t be quite right without one of Canada’s most famous dishes, so the fries here are not just fries, but Canadian Poutine. If you’re not sure what that is, it is basically the national dish of Canada and it is delicious. Originating in the province of Quebec and spreading across Canada and now the world apparently, Poutine is a gooey, delicious mess that includes french fries and cheese curds, topped with hot brown gravy. On the side of a delicious burger, this is a welcome upgrade to traditional french fries.

2. M22 Burger

M22’s burgers pack a real punch and part of the draw here is that all of the ingredients in their burgers are Polish and locally sourced. Speaking of sauce, they also proudly prepare all their sauces fresh every morning. One big difference that sets these guys apart is their Belgian fries. Using only potatoes shipped in especially from Belgium itself, they are made to an original recipe and fried in beef fat. On the menu at M22 are all the classics, but they also throw in a few curve balls with their toppings like avocado and red pesto cheese. Our favourite here, is the Cult burger, a monster that is topped off with ketchup, mustard, homemade mustard cucumbers, candied onion with balsamic vinegar, bacon, 2 types of cheese (American cheddar, Mimolette). They have 3 locations in Krakow, including a street-food truck.

3. Mr Pancake

I know what you’re thinking, but bear with me, because they also serve some quality burgers. Although they are known in Krakow for the diet- busting pancake plates, Mr. Pancake also serve delicious pizzas and even more delicious burgers. If their calorific pancakes are anything to go by, you can probably imagine just how their burgers are; delicious and dirty in the best possible way. Situated in the Dolnych Mlynow area, a repurposed tobacco factory packed with restaurants, Mr pancake is a great place to enjoy a beer and burger, while chilling out in their huge garden area. The burgers are meaty and juicy and keeping in line with the trend of also serving great fries, these guys do a selection of loaded fries with toppings such as mac 'n' cheese, Cheetos & bacon and chilli con can. Yum!

4. Moa Burger

This New Zealand style burger restaurant, is easily one of my personal favourites in Krakow...and possibly anywhere! A real crowd-pleaser, Moa has a great selection of burgers, to satisfy the tastes of every burger lover. Options even include a Surf'n'Turf that comes stuffed with grilled tiger prawns. Burgers here are the size of your head and always hit the spot. If served with fries and a drink as well, expect a gut- busting meal that will leave you stuffed. Moa also offer what is probably the best milkshake in Krakow to wash down your burger. However, be warned if heading into Moa on a weekend, they are located just off the main square and are a tourist and local favourite so they can get quite busy...definitely worth the wait though!

6. House of Beer

Last but certainly not least on our list, is not actually a burger restaurant at all, but a damned good craft beer pub, that just so happens to also serve the most mouth-watering, pulled pork burgers in Krakow. House of beer is one of the most well-known spots in Krakow to get a beer, with a selection that is unrivalled, so it's a go-to spot for the beer enthusiast, as well as the casual drinker. Accompanying their wide selection of brews is a decent food menu, where you will find seven different variations of the pulled pork burger; the most notable of which would have to be the spicy peanut butter and pork burger. A great spot to really enjoy your burger with a nice cold beer.
